Big news! Blake proposed on Christmas Eve, and I said yes! While the ring is gorgeous, the best part of the gift is getting to have my best friend forever. I truly had a life-changing Christmas.

It has also been rather stressful. As soon as I opened the box, the wedding plans started whirring in my head. Blake and I have talked about our ideas many times before the engagement, and now it’s time to put the plans into action. We’re already talking venue, guest list, wedding party and invites. All the while, we’re celebrating with our families and packing because we leave for a Colorado ski trip tomorrow morning!

I’m anticipating the stress of 2016. I’m running a half-marathon in March and a full-marathon in October. I’m taking a winter course and full class loads in the spring and fall semesters. I’m interning. I’m working part-time as a waitress. I’m planning a wedding. I’m graduating in December and planning to walk down the aisle in January 2017. THAT’S A LOT!

If I stop to think about it too much, my head whirls with thoughts like “How am I going to juggle all of this?”

But a wedding should be fun. My friends told me skipping prom was the worst decision because it would be the best night of my life. I wholeheartedly disagreed but knew my wedding would be the best night of my life. As such, I want the planning to be fun. I want the whole process to be memorable and enjoyable, leading up to the big day. So I’m going to try my hardest to reign in my stress and anxious thoughts. I’ll make my lists and check to-do’s off one by one. And when the headaches set in, I’ll kiss my new fiance and look down at my shiny ring!
