managing stress

A fellow blogger’s recent post about finding time to relax has inspired me to start a new series called Managing Your Stress.

The series will consist of three parts:

  • Part One: Overscheduled and Overwhelmed
  • Part Two: Being the Best or Being Your Best
  • Part Three: Embracing Unavoidable Uncertainties

I’m a very anxious person who can easily be consumed by stress. While I’ve never been medically diagnosed with any anxiety issues, I know that I’m prone to worry, and I know that when my negative mental state is left unchecked, unhealthy consequences result.

However, because I’m aware of my tendencies, I’ve developed coping skills over the years. Organization and planning, approaching situations with a certain mindset, and being open and honest with both myself, my significant other and my family members are some major ways in which I cope.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing my coping skills and discussing ways to ease the stresses of life (as much as possible).

While the series is ongoing, it will have its own section on the blog. Afterwards, it will live in the Full of Life section under the Mentality subcategory.

Feel free to comment with your own experiences and tips as well. We’re all different, and one thing doesn’t always work for another person, so all voices are welcome. I’m by no means an expert on mental health, but I’m hoping some of my strategies will help others.
